Why Your Support Matters To Our Animals
Adopt your favorite animal at the High Desert Museum and help provide the care and enrichment they need.
As an adoptive animal parent, you are supporting the Museum’s work of caring for rescued animals. All of our animals are rescued due to injuries or human imprinting. They cannot survive on their own, so the Museum provides them a safe home and the visitors can meet them close-up while learning all about them.
Animals at the Museum are provided special food formulated to give them the essential nutrients they would receive if they were in the wild. The cost ranges from $1,700 a year to feed an eagle, to $7,500 a year to feed a badger.
Our animals receive excellent care from the Museum’s wildlife staff and volunteers. They also get check-ups from professional veterinarians.
Your adoption matters.
It helps provide all of that care, and inspires others to care too.
It’s easy.
Choose your animal by completing the form, and you will receive an adoption package in the mail.
It makes a great gift too! Most importantly, please know that you are helping an animal that cannot survive in the wild.
When you adopt an animal for a year, you'll receive:
- an adoption certificate
- information and fun facts about your animal
- an Adopt-an-Animal "Adopted" button
- a color photo of the animal, suitable for framing
- your name permanently added to the Family Album on display at the Museu
